Titan filter press AF1200 in operation

A globally leading chemical company has chosen state-of-the-art filtration technology for its site in Chicago. By replacing outdated chamber filter presses with the fully automatic AF1200 (SFP) filter press, our customer has significantly optimised solid-liquid separation and improved overall process efficiency.

Technical highlights of the AF1200 (SFP) filter press

This fully automatic membrane filter press was specially developed for the demanding applications of our customer and stands out due to its robust design:

  • Material durability: Key components are made of titanium; additional parts are coated with a highly resistant C5 protective layer.
  • Chemical resistance: The filter press is built to withstand the extreme conditions of ferric chloride (FeCl₃).
  • Aggressive atmosphere: Integrated exhaust openings in the hood ensure safe and controlled condensate removal.
  • UL-certified electronics: The control system meets North American standards, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

The filter press was designed with a strong focus on operational safety. AQUACHEM incorporated not only the results of the risk assessment, but also the customer’s specific requirements and the regulatory demands of the U.S. market.

Automation for Maximum Efficiency

The customer chose the AF1200 to modernise and further automate its filtration processes. Thanks to fully automated discharge and optimised filter cake handling, manual intervention is kept to an absolute minimum.

With this new filter press, the company has secured a future-ready solution for maximum efficiency and process reliability in the chemical industry.
